What was I thinking????

Do you have any idea how much 360 is of anything?  Me neither until I ordered these:

I got an email from one of the Scrapbook Deal of the Day sites (I can't remember which one) about these flowers that you color to any color you want with chalk, ink pads, makers, etc.   When I saw I thought "Oh I need those" because I never have the right color flower when I doing a card or a layout.  So I ordered them for about $20.00 and waited for them to arrive.  

And boy was I shocked when that package arrived.  There are a ton of flowers in 360....and in all kinds of sizes.  Here's a close up so you can the different sizes.

So they have been sitting on my table waiting for me to open and use them.  But to tell the truth that big bag of flowers is a little scary.  But I got brave and opened them this weekend.  Now usually I am one of those people who saves scrapbook supplies for the perfect layout and I found myself doing that with these flowers.  I had thoughts of what if I screw them up when I color the 3 that I needed for my layout.   And then "ding, ding, ding" a bell went off in my head.  If I screw up the 3 that I need for my layout I have 357 more to play around with :)

I am glad that I have a daughter who scraps too, cause part of these flowers are going home with her this weekend.  And BTW, they color very nicely with an ink pad.  Haven't tried anything else but I will let you know.

64 hours of total ME time....Bliss

Yes you read that right....64 hours all to myself.  It was heaven!!  Hubby and oldest daughter left for a 4 day fishing trip and the youngest and her BF were camping for the weekend, which left me all by myself.

So my weekend started at 2:30 Friday afternoon when I left work.  And it started with a trip to Michael's for all of these lovely supplies cause you know I needed them...LOL

After that a quick stop at MickeyD's for my favorite fast food and then over to Starbucks for one of these, which by the way was only $1.95 cause I hit their "Happy Hour"

It was home to start the weekend.  Friday night started with watching this movie which I love along with some Milk Duds (my favorites)

and then I went through and deleted and organized pictures so that I could upload 120 to SnapFish for their deal of 120 prints for $10.00 before it expired.  Then made a stop by Scrapbook Pal.com cause I am out of adhesive and I love their prices and free shipping for orders over $25.

And remember that Starbucks I had earlier?  Well I should have known better cause caffeine keeps me wide awake at night so I spend alot of time over at 2Peas catching up on stuff there.  Finally at midnight I got into bed (now this is the only part I don't like about hubby being gone, I hate being home alone at night).  But the dogs and I got comfy and drifted off to sleep at about 1 am.

Saturday morning we were up by 9am and after some coffee and a little reading.  I started a new book this weekend.

About 10:00 am I hit the scrap room for a good solid 5 hours of scrapping.  I am determined to get our Disney album done since it's only been 3 years since we were there.  So I figured that would be my project for the weekend.  Now since Amanda is with Hubby I took care of Henry for her so I had to stop and go check on him and spend alittle time with him.  He gets awful lonely when his mom is gone. (BTW Henry is a cat).

So I figured since I was going to be out I might as well really pamper myself and have these

and these done.

Then I decided to stop by Avenue to look for some new summer Capri's and lo and behold the were having a sale on T-shirts for $2.00 a piece - couldn't pass that up so I bought 5.

Once I was home again it was time to feed the dogs and me.  I LOVE Tacos but don't get them very often cause Hubby doesn't care for them. So this weekend I made myself Tacos for the whole weekend.

Along with my favorite soda. 

Who could ask for anything more???  Oh I could,  how about some dessert???

After that it was back to the scrap room for a couple more hours.  Then off to bed where the dogs and I watched Dirty Dancing- another favorite of mine - before falling asleep.

Sunday morning was another sleep in until 9am morning, I could have slept longer but Wyatt had to go pee and he lets everyone know it when he has to go out.  So up we got.

This was breakfast along with a cup of coffee.

Spent the rest of the day until about 3pm scrapping and playing with stuff in my scrap room.  Although the one thing that I did today was spend sometime on EBay and boy was that a bad idea. :)  I ended up with 3 new cricut cartridges but one is for Kendall so I only got 2 but for all 3 of them I only spent $60.  Not bad!!!

Had to go and check on this guy again and make sure that he was OK.

Then came home and had dinner - TACOS.  Then it was back to real life for a bit as I cleaned the house alittle bit and paid some bills.

Sunday night was spent watching Army Wives and Survivors while finishing up my new book.

It has been a wonderful weekend and I got 7 more layouts done in our Disney album (I'll post them later this week).  But I do miss hubby and will be so glad to see him tonight when I get home from work.

A Bouquet Card

I keep seeing these darling cards that are a flower pot full of flowers and decided to sit down tonight to see if I could come up with one of my own.

I grabbed some Kraft brown paper and a new cuttlebug embossing folder that I got last week and went to work.  A little brown ink and it looks like a flower pot.   So far so good.

Next up was trying to decide what paper to use for the flowers in my pot.  I always have a problem picking patterned paper to use in my projects but this time I know exactly what paper I wanted to use.  I love blue and yellow together and I have a blue and yellow paper pad that I am always trying to use in my projects and it just never seems to work out.  But tonight I used it for my flowers along with my cricut and Walk in My Garden cartridge.  I  also had exactly the right buttons for the middles, along with some pretty blue ribbon.

So without further ado.....here is the card that I made.

NSD - who has time????

So I totally missed National Scrapbooking Day this year, just too busy with other things this past weekend.  Like the wonderful Bridal Shower that my daughter throw for her best friend, a great car show and spending time with my other daughter who won't be here for Mother's Day this year.

So in honor of NSD I wanted to share the very first layout I ever did.  I have an older sister who is amazingly talented with all things crafty (she gets it from my mom) and she was already scrapping when I decided to try it.  Kendall was home sick and taking a nap so the house was really quiet so I got everything out that I had bought so far - which wasn't much back then and came up with this layout.  Just paper and stickers but I had alot of fun doing it and was hooked from then on.  That was about 11 years ago.

To this day I still love this layout and wouldn't change a thing on it.  It reminds me that scrapping is suppose to be fun and about perserving the memories for our family.  Not how elaborate or fancy I can make the pages in our albums.

I also made a card for a niece that is getting married in July.  Her Bridal shower is in June and I won't be able to make it but wanted to let her know I was sending good wishes.

Antique Fair Finds

What a beautiful weekend we ended up having weather wise.  Saturday was in the high 70's and Sunday was 82 degrees at one point.  Now that's the kind of weather we are suppose to be having this time of year not RAIN.  Which by the way, it's raining again today.

Anyway as I mentioned this weekend was a big weekend in our small town with our Annual Butter & Eggs Day Parade and Antique Fair.  The hubby and I went downtown Sunday morning to the fair just to see what goodies we could find.

It's all outside and the streets were packed with people and great vendors.  Now I know that we have don't as good of antiques as back east but I was amazed at some of the stuff that I saw.  And it was a good thing hubby was with me or I would have come home with alot more.  But every time I looked at a piece of furniture I would hear "Um Honey where are you going to put that?" and it would stay with the vendor.  It's a good thing I don't have a bigger house cause it would be packed to the gills with antique furniture :)

Anyway I thought I would share what treasures I found with you:

I love old window frames that you put pictures in and I was thrilled and so was hubby when we found this one.  I can't decide if I want to repaint and crackle it or leave it as is.  And we thought we might leave those pictures in it as a conversation starter.  But believe me the purple paper is going, it doesn't go with the new living room and it's ugly!

So anyone that knows me, know that I LOVE Dogs.  So I just couldn't pass these guys up.  Not sure where I am going to put them yet but I will find a place.  There are so ugly they are cute!

And last but not least there was a lady there that had a whole basket of old picture frames painted pick and white and she had decorated them with silk roses and pearls.  They were just calling my name cause they would look darling in my scrap studio.  But when I picked them up and saw that she wanted $20 a piece I stopped listening :)   So in another booth this guy had a whole pile of old frames for $5 a piece and I bought 4 of them.  And I was going to paint them black and put them up in the scrap studio but have since changed my mind and will keep them the way they are and hang them in the living room.  The gold color matched my new lamps really well and they will be something different on the walls.

So these were all my finds at the Antique Fair.  I am pretty happy with everything I brought home and can't wait to get them up in my home.

Another One Done!

Happy Friday Everyone!!!  I don't know about you but I am ready for this week to be over.  And yeah our weather is suppose to be in the mid 70's this weekend.  Just in time for our annual Butter & Eggs Day Parade and Antique Fair downtown this weekend.
One thing I did get done this week is another layout for our Disney album.  I figured since I did all of the retail therapy last weekend I better use some of it up. :)

This is a layout of the Hollywood Tower Hotel at Disneyland.  And if you look really close there is a picture of the archway that you walk under which is all bats.  That's way I thought this paper was perfect.  I did the title with my Cricut and some vellum.  I also used those metalic chalks that I bought at the convention to make the bats stand out a little more.  I am a big chicken of scary rides and just watching a video of this ride on YouTube scared me so I can't imagine actually being on this thing.  I am envious of people who can get on these types of rides and have a blast.

This is a close up the bats.  I used SCAL and my Cricut so that I could add the words into the body of the bat.  Then I put behind them so the words would show up.

Here are the Critters

I was just thinking the other day that the name of my blog is " Crafts and Critters" but I've yet to put up pictures of Maggie & Wyatt.  Over the weekend I finally got some decent pictures of them and thought I would share.  I am not a very good pet photograph but I pratice alot and these 2 now run when I have the camera out :)

This is my little Queen Maggie - she rules the house and everyone in it.

She is my shadow and every where that I go she follows.  She crawls in bed with me every night and then proceeds to push hubby out.

And this is Wyatt Earp - I caught him right as he was getting ready to take a nap, so he doesn't always look this grumpy.   Usually he is the biggest doofus with the best personality.   Even though he is 70 lbs., he is pretty much a big baby and runs to Mom when ever he is scared.

So these are our 2 furbabies.  Spoiled rotten and well loved.  Can't imagine what a day would be like with them not around.
